What it is?
Bosque Negocio (Business Forest) is a concept that the Banca de Inversión Sostenible (Sustainable Investment Bank) presented to the New York Declaration on Forests at the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2018.
It is a combination of sustainable use of forest by-products and carbon bonds. Its purpose is to value the natural and cultural capital that resides in forests, confronting land speculation as the main engine of deforestation.
A 20M USD investment portfolio for Bosque Negocios in Latin America is currently being consolidated by NYDF and UNDP.
What’s the proposal?
Territory AIZA 1,443,152 hectares. The conservation of the forest and its sustainable use are part of its cultural heritage. Since 2010 there have been significant advances in the technification and formalization of its processes before the Colombian Government.
The community of Sabaloyaco is a part of 12 communities that form the Asociación de Autoridades Indígenas de la Zona de Arica (AIZA) — Association of Indian Authorities of the Zone of Arica.
